What would be the best plants to plant around the edges of a childs play area?

What would be the best plants to plant around the edges of a childs play area? To try and shed some light, my garden is maybe 35ft x25ft? Maybe! I have a corner shed ( on the left) I’m hoping to get a raised decking path from my patio to the shed, and paint the shed itself dark blue, with cream window frames. I was going to put a small seating area on the left of this path, and surround it with lavender, giant daisies, agapanthus, grasses etc.The right hand side of this path is a different story. I have a giant wooden climbing frame complete with 9th slide and swings! I’ll prob bark the ground instead of the grass, but what flowers would be best to surround this area? My kids aren’t crazy and destructive BUT in keeping with the cottagey theme I haven my head, what would be a good resilient yet attractive boarder to plant around here? Sorry if I made this confusing ! Left of the garden is sun sun sun, right of the garden is shady, the grass grows better here, I would like to bring little bits of colour in to this part
